T-Mobile is pleased to announce the return of the Friday Night 5G Lights program for the 2025 season. This initiative is designed to provide substantial support to high school football programs within small communities across the United States. To receive timely notification when official applications open on July 17, we encourage interested parties to pre-register today!

The program aims to directly impact school pride, athletic performance, and foster technological advancement at the local level. Participation is open to high schools located in towns with populations of less than 150,000. The program features a tiered award structure:

  • $5K Fridays: Beginning July 17, multiple high schools will be awarded $5,000 each week throughout the application period.
  • Finalist Grants: Selected finalists will each receive a $25,000 grant, designated for enhancements to their football programs.
  • Grand Prize: On October 30, one high school will be designated as the grand prize winner, receiving a multi-million dollar package designed to deliver significant, game-changing upgrades to their home field and associated facilities.

The program received 1,749 entries from all 50 states, resulting in 300 high schools receiving $5,000 awards and 16 finalists earning $25,000 grants in 2024. Inola High School in Inola, Oklahoma, secured the grand prize, demonstrating the tangible benefits available to participating communities.

Further details on the program’s requirements and evaluation criteria are available in the Preregistration Playbook.
