Wyoming Statute 21-3-136 authorizes the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) to reimburse school districts for FY25 expenses related to the possession of firearms on school property. The WDE905 Firearms on School Property Reimbursement Data Collection will begin on June 2. Participating districts must email board policies authorizing employees to carry firearms, along with redacted receipts or other payment verification to cheyenne.zier@wyo.gov by June 30.
Reimbursement amounts will be determined based on the number of districts claiming reimbursement and the amounts requested by each.
