The Wyoming Department of Education distributed $5 million from the Mental Health Service grant for the 2024-25 school year. These funds may be used for supplemental expenses incurred from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 to support mental health programming and services. View the WDE District Resource site to watch a recording of an informational session and view other resources to help districts utilize these funds.

The WDE anticipates three primary ways districts and schools might utilize these grant funds: for direct services to students, funding curriculum or other materials, and implementing various mental health programs. Participants are encouraged to fully expend grant funds by June 30. Unexpended funds for year one must be returned to the WDE by July 31.

Wyo. Sess. Laws, Chapter 118, Section 331, appropriated $10 million to the WDE to establish the Mental Health Service grant. Funding for this grant is based on each participating school’s average daily membership (ADM) for school years 2024–25 and 2025–26.
