Beginning in July, the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) will collect the WDE601 Annual District Report through the Wyoming Interoperable Data System (WINDS). Collection of the WDE601 in the State Report Manager (SRM) was discontinued for the 2024-25 school year and replaced by WINDS. Support and maintenance for the SRM ended on February 7 and districts are encouraged to download any data from previous school years now.
The WDE will release a revised collection and submission guidebook before July. In June, a demonstration of the application and a sandbox environment for district data collection will be offered.
Several enhancements will be seen in the application including the ability to edit data in the WINDS application, a search feature, direct linking between errors and edit screens, and reports to assist certification.
There are changes to the data collection:
- Bus VIN data will no longer be collected on the WDE601. The payment associated with each VIN will be added to the WDE620 Pupil Transportation Collection. Only district totals will be collected under object codes 550 and 551 in the WDE601.
- Tuition payments for dual courses by institution will no longer be collected. It was acknowledged that district totals for tuition revenues and expenses should not be disaggregated by institution or include student counts. Only district totals will be reported under object codes 371, 372, and 373 for expenses and under source codes 813XX for revenues. The student count values will no longer apply to either expenses or revenues.
