The WDE is seeking public comment on Chapter 42: Rules on Seclusion and Restraint in Schools. These rules establish the requirements for school district seclusion and restraint policies, policy enforcement, policy publication, and incident data collection. The proposed revisions to Chapter 42 will allow districts to submit aggregated seclusion and restraint data. This allows the WDE to continue collecting sufficient data to meet the requirements set forth in Wyoming statute, and grants students additional privacy protection. A rationale for the revisions to these rules can be found in the Statement of Reasons.

Public comment on the proposed rules may be submitted from March 20, 2017 to May 15, 2017 online, or mailed to:

Wyoming Department of Education
Attn: Susan Williams
2300 Capitol Avenue
Hathaway Building 2nd Floor
Cheyenne, WY 82002

All public comments will be recorded, filed, and posted on the Secretary of State website as part of the rules promulgation process.

The WDE is collecting informal feedback on the current 2012 Wyoming Mathematics Standards. The information collected from this survey is intended to identify areas for additional professional development and resource support, and to identify areas of concern for future review committee consideration.  The public is encouraged to complete the Public Input Survey on 2012 Math Standards.
