Distance Education Grant

The only eligible Distance Education Grant applicants are school districts that receive approval for 2020-2021 virtual education programs prior to May 31, 2020. 

2020-21 Grant Cycle Now Open – Due July 24, 2020

The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) releases the Distance Education Grant (DEG) Request for Proposals in accordance with the Chapter 41 Virtual Education rules each year. DEG proposals are typically due in July.  The purpose of this grant is to develop and maintain virtual education programs in Wyoming.

A total of $200,000 will be available in the 2020-2021 DEG funding cycle for eligible Wyoming public school districts, community colleges, and the University of Wyoming for the development and maintenance of distance education Virtual 307 courses and programs offered by school districts.

Funds will be awarded with priority consideration given in the following order:

  • Individual course design and creation;
  • Additional content design and creation;
  • Professional development, program evaluation or accreditation requirements;
  • Maintenance and operational needs.
