The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) is excited to announce the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Certification for Educators training opportunity for Wyoming teachers. The WDE is partnering with Arizona Technology in Education (AzTEA), one of the organizations ISTE has authorized to deliver the training, to support one hundred teachers through the certification process. ISTE Certification is a professional competency-based program focused on pedagogy that transforms learning through the use of education technology.

ISTE Certification for Educators training includes in-person workshops and online learning, followed by teachers applying what they have learned in the classroom. Teachers document their classroom activities and submit the evidence in a portfolio to ISTE as the final step to become certified. The program is rigorous but the WDE and AzTEA have added support layers to the training to assist educators through each step in the process.
