The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) collaborated with the Wyoming State Health Officer, Dr. Alexia Harrist, and school nurses throughout the state to create medication standing orders that can be utilized in districts per W.S. 21-2-202(a)(xxxviii)(B).
The medication standing orders and protocols are available for schools to implement with the approval of their local school boards. The medication standing orders and protocols can be authorized by a healthcare provider in your community, your county health officer, or by the state health officer.
