Neglected and Delinquent Title I-D

Title I, Part D, Subpart 1 is a federal education program serving qualified institutional school settings by providing supplemental education funding to support students in achieving the same high educational standards while in an out-of-district setting that would be expected while in their home district. The program aims to reduce the dropout rates of students in contact with the juvenile justice system as the result of adult neglect or student delinquency. The program also aims to assist students with a successful transition from the institutional school setting back to their home district, post-secondary education, or the workforce. Approximately 1200 students are served through this program each year at fifteen facilities in the Departments of Education, Family Services and Corrections.

Title I, Part D, Subpart 2 is a federal education program serving Wyoming school districts with a high concentration of students in out-of-district placements such as group homes and juvenile detention centers. This supplemental education program aims to reduce school dropout rates, particularly those of students in contact with the court system due to neglect or delinquency, though other at-risk student populations are included. The program also aims to assist students with successful transition from an institutional school setting back to their home school, post-secondary education, or the workforce. Approximately 1900 students are served through this program each year in thirteen Wyoming school districts.
