Blue Ribbon Schools

The Blue Ribbon Schools Program is used to honor those elementary and secondary schools in the United States that make significant progress in closing the achievement gap or whose students achieve at very high levels. The program requires the schools to meet one of two assessment criteria. It rewards schools that perform in the top 10% on the state assessment, and it also recognizes schools that have at least 40% of their students from disadvantaged backgrounds and that dramatically improved their students’ performance.
