Foreign Language Content and Performance Standards Because the majority of its members believe in the importance of children learning to speak another language at an early age, the Wyoming Legislature mandated FLES programs in every elementary school within its jurisdiction. Specifically, beginning in the 2002-2003 school year, every child in kindergarten, first and second grades has had the opportunity to study another language and culture.
This program, used with the SALSA video series, will enable the state’s schools to offer that experience to their K-2 students.
