Adequate Yearly Progress Information Released to the Public

The Wyoming Department of Education announced today the release of the Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) information as defined by the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001.

About the Program

All Wyoming school districts have reviewed their AYP related data; one district’s AYP determinations remain under review per their request. Under NCLB, all states are required to make AYP determinations each year for every public school district and school in the state. Schools and districts are required to continually improve their students’ achievement in reading or language arts and mathematics from year-to-year to match a federal mandate that all students are achieving at or above grade level by 2014.

2012 AYP results are available on the Wyoming Department of Education here.

NOTE: As a result of the Wyoming Legislature's actions that removed writing from the 2011-2012 PAWS testing, the U.S. Department of Education required Wyoming to recalculate its AYP targets; these revised targets are shown in the enclosed charts.
